Chapter 2

As you kept trying not to laugh, not being able to breathe, Sans continued on and on.

"You just hang around outside your station! What are you even doing?!"

Sans looked and sounded even cuter when he was angry. It was all you could do to keep from dying of laughter. You bit down on your tounge, trying not to laugh.

"Staring at this lamp. It's really cool. Do you wanna look?" Papyrus asked, also looking like he was trying to keep from laughing.

Sans started stomping his foot on the ground and yelling, "NO! I don't have time for that! What if a human comes through here?! I want to be ready!"

The irony of what Sans just said made you laugh so hard that you had to pile snow on top of yourself to keep from Sans hearing. Papyrus had his hand over his mouth too, trying not to laugh.

Sans continued. "I will be the one! I must be the one! I will capture a human!"

Sans stopped looking angry. He had little stars in his eyes where his pupils were. His cheeks gave off a soft blue glow, which apparently meant he was blushing. He stared off into no direction in particular, as if he was having a daydream. "Then I, the Great Sans...

You piled more snow on top of yourself.

Sans kept talking. "...will get all the things I utterly deserve! Respect. Recognition. I will finally be able to join the royal guard!"

The stars were still in his eyes. Sans continued. "People will ask to, be my, 'friend?'"

Papyrus stifled a laugh. "Hmm... maybe this lamp will help you."

Sans lost the stars in his eyes. "Papyrus! You are not helping! You lazybones! All you do is sit and boondoggle! You get lazier and lazier every day!"

Papyrus smiled and said, "Hey. Take it easy. I've gotten a ton of work done today." He winked. "A SKELE-ton."

"PAPYRUS!"
"Come on, you're smiling."
"I am and I hate it!" Sans sighed. "Ugh! Why does someone as great as me... have to do so much work just to get some recognition?"
Papyrus smiled again. "Wow. Sounds like you're really working yourself... down to the BONE."

Sans groaned. "Ugh!" He looked a little angry again. "I will go attend to my puzzles. As for your work? Put a little more... 'backbone' into it! Mwehhehehehehehehhehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehhehehehehhehhehhhehehhe!"

Sans walked away on his stubby little legs. Then he came back and added a final "heh" then walked away again.

Papyrus made sure Sans was out of sight. "Okay," he said. "You can come out now."

You brushed the snow off yourself and walked away from the lamp. Your face was red from laughing so much.

"Didja have a hard time?" Papyrus asked.

"Why didn't you tell me he was so FLIPPIN' cute?" you asked.

Papyrus smiled. "I was used to it. I wouldn't really consider him cute. Just stubborn." He walked away.

You walked away, following Sans and Papyrus. As you walked, you finally found him again. Sans looked in your direction and a look of surprise and excitement came on his face. He pointed at you and yelled, "PAPYRUS! OH MY GOD! IS THAT... A HUMAN?!"
"Uhhh..." Papyrus said. "Actually, I think that's a rock." He pointed to a rock behind you and stifled a laugh.
"Oh," said Sans. His smile was gone, replaced with a sad expression. You internally slapped your head.
"Hey, what's that in front of the rock?" Papyrus pointed to you.
