Chapter 3

Sans had a hopeful look again as he (finally) saw you.
"OH MY GOD!!" he shouted. Then he whispered to Papyrus, "Is... is that a human?"
Papyrus whispered, "Yes."
Sans began to shout again. He had the stars in his eyes and he was blushing a lot again. "OH MY GOD!! PAPYRUS! I FINALLY DID IT! ALPHYS WILL... I'M GONNA... I'LL BE SO... POPULAR! POPULAR! POPULAR!"

He cleared his throat. "Human! You shall not pass this area! I, the Great Sans, will stop you! I will then capture you! You will be delivered to the capital! THEN! Then... I'm not sure what's next." He looked adorable when he was confused and it was all you could do to keep from hugging the short skeleton.
"In any case!" Sans continued. "Continue... only if you dare! Mweh heh heh heh heh heh heh!" He walked away.

Papyrus made sure he wasn't too close and then started talking.
"Well, that went well. Don't sweat it, kid." He winked. "I'll keep an eyesocket out for ya." He walked away. You waited a minute. Then you followed. When you saw Papyrus again, he was talking to Sans. Out on the ground in front of you was a square that was two times wide as you were tall where some snow was cleared. You heard Sans scolding Papyrus while Papyrus looked like he didn't care. You heard Sans call Papyrus lazy for 'napping all night'.
"Uh, I think that's called 'sleeping'," said Papyrus. Sans yelled at him more. He sounded so adorable then that you giggled a little bit. Sans turned to face you.

"Oh-ho! The human arrives!" Sans had the tiniest stars forming in his eyes again. "In order to stop you, my brother and I have created some puzzles!"
You looked at the clearing again. It didn't look puzzle-ish at all. "This is the invisible electricity maze! When you touch the walls of this maze, this orb will administer a hearty zap!" Sans pulled out a blue orb from behind his back and held it up.

"Sounds like fun," he continued. "Because the amount of fun you will have is actually rather small I think. Ok, go on ahead now." You walked towards the maze with your eyes glued to the ground. Then, a sound came from the other side. You looked up. Sans was zapped with his own puzzle. He brushed off some- well stuff- off himself, then turned to face Papyrus.

"Papyrus! What did you do!" He yelled. "uh, I think the human has to hold the orb," Papyrus said. Sans walked over to you through the maze, in a specific pattern making sure he wasn't zapped again. He gently placed the orb on top of your head. "There," he said. "Try now."

You walked through the maze, being sure to place your feet in his tiny footprints. He didn't notice the footprints. "Incredible! You slippery snail!" Sans said. "You solved it so easily. Too easily." He glared at no one or nothing in particular. "However! The next puzzle will not be as easy! It is designed by my brother, Papyrus! You will surely be confounded! Mweh heh heh heh heh heh!" He slid away.

You encountered many other puzzles like that, with Papyrus's being lazy, like a word search or a crossword puzzle. Soon enough as you kept walking in the same direction, you reached a town. Its banner was large and welcoming, and wore the words 'WELCOME TO SNOWDIN TOWN'. You found many places there: a shop, where you bought sweet-smelling food. An inn where you didn't stay because you couldn't really afford to. A library called a 'librarby'. A restaurant. And, a house. You didn't see any other houses in this town. Next to it was a mailbox and a stuffed mailbox.

You walked past the house and came upon an oddly foggy area.

Chapter 2

As you kept trying not to laugh, not being able to breathe, Sans continued on and on.

"You just hang around outside your station! What are you even doing?!"

Sans looked and sounded even cuter when he was angry. It was all you could do to keep from dying of laughter. You bit down on your tounge, trying not to laugh.

"Staring at this lamp. It's really cool. Do you wanna look?" Papyrus asked, also looking like he was trying to keep from laughing.

Sans started stomping his foot on the ground and yelling, "NO! I don't have time for that! What if a human comes through here?! I want to be ready!"

The irony of what Sans just said made you laugh so hard that you had to pile snow on top of yourself to keep from Sans hearing. Papyrus had his hand over his mouth too, trying not to laugh.

Sans continued. "I will be the one! I must be the one! I will capture a human!"

Sans stopped looking angry. He had little stars in his eyes where his pupils were. His cheeks gave off a soft blue glow, which apparently meant he was blushing. He stared off into no direction in particular, as if he was having a daydream. "Then I, the Great Sans...

You piled more snow on top of yourself.

Sans kept talking. "...will get all the things I utterly deserve! Respect. Recognition. I will finally be able to join the royal guard!"

The stars were still in his eyes. Sans continued. "People will ask to, be my, 'friend?'"

Papyrus stifled a laugh. "Hmm... maybe this lamp will help you."

Sans lost the stars in his eyes. "Papyrus! You are not helping! You lazybones! All you do is sit and boondoggle! You get lazier and lazier every day!"

Papyrus smiled and said, "Hey. Take it easy. I've gotten a ton of work done today." He winked. "A SKELE-ton."

"PAPYRUS!"
"Come on, you're smiling."
"I am and I hate it!" Sans sighed. "Ugh! Why does someone as great as me... have to do so much work just to get some recognition?"
Papyrus smiled again. "Wow. Sounds like you're really working yourself... down to the BONE."

Sans groaned. "Ugh!" He looked a little angry again. "I will go attend to my puzzles. As for your work? Put a little more... 'backbone' into it! Mwehhehehehehehehhehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehhehehehehhehhehhhehehhe!"

Sans walked away on his stubby little legs. Then he came back and added a final "heh" then walked away again.

Papyrus made sure Sans was out of sight. "Okay," he said. "You can come out now."

You brushed the snow off yourself and walked away from the lamp. Your face was red from laughing so much.

"Didja have a hard time?" Papyrus asked.

"Why didn't you tell me he was so FLIPPIN' cute?" you asked.

Papyrus smiled. "I was used to it. I wouldn't really consider him cute. Just stubborn." He walked away.

You walked away, following Sans and Papyrus. As you walked, you finally found him again. Sans looked in your direction and a look of surprise and excitement came on his face. He pointed at you and yelled, "PAPYRUS! OH MY GOD! IS THAT... A HUMAN?!"
"Uhhh..." Papyrus said. "Actually, I think that's a rock." He pointed to a rock behind you and stifled a laugh.
"Oh," said Sans. His smile was gone, replaced with a sad expression. You internally slapped your head.
"Hey, what's that in front of the rock?" Papyrus pointed to you.

Chapter 1

Right when you went past the door, Asgore left. He didn't wave. He didn't shout. He left. You felt the slightest bit upset about it, but you didn't go back. Instead. you kept trotting along.

This place was a lot colder than the ruins. It had snow on the ground and all the trees were bare. You kept walking for a while as you took in your surroundings, and the door growing smaller and smaller until you couldn't see it at all. You thought to yourself if this was really all. Finally, aftere an hour of walking, you saw a gate.

The bars were built too far away from each other. As you were about to continue, you felt a presence. A tall figure stood behind you. You couldn't make out who or what it was from where it was standing in the shadows. The figure stood there, until it finally said, "Human."

You jumped at the voice. It was surprisingly low, with a slight New York accent.
"Don't you know how to greet a new pal?"

You couldn't tell who it was because you were turned around, facing the gate. You didn't want to turn around, fearing that it could be something dangerous. You wished you'd listened to Asgore.

"Turn around and shake my hand," it said. You turned around. Standing there was a tall skeleton wearing an orange hoodie, his arm out. You shook his hand. It released a farting noise. He laughed.
"The ol' whoopie cushion in the hand trick. It's always funny."

"I'm Papyrus. Papyrus the skeleton."
"...um, hi, I guess," you said. You were still still slightly intimidated by him.

"Anyways, you're a human, right?"
"Yeah..."
I'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now.But...y'know... I really don't care about capturing anybody. Now, my brother, Sans, he's a human-hunting fanatic."

You listened as Papyrus talked on and on.

"Actually, I think that's him over there. I have an idea. Go through this gate thingy. Yeah, go right through. My bro made the bars too far apart to stop anybody."

You walked through the gate. Papyrus followed.

"Quick, behind that conveniently-shaped lamp," Papyrus said. He pointed toward a lamp that somehow, is shaped almost exactly like you. You went behind it and peeked out from the top. You saw a shorter skeleton, an inch shorter than you, walk through. He was wearing a blue bandana with several holes in it, blue oven mitts, and blue boots that were obviously too big.

He tripped, then kept skipping along. You stifled a giggle as he kept tripping and skipping. He looked glad, until he saw Papyrus.
"'Sup, bro," Papyrus said coolly.
"You know what 'sup', brother," Sans said. His voice was so high and adorable that you couldn't help but giggle a little bit.
"It's been eight days and you still haven't..."
You watched Sans as his teeth curled into a frown, while still being cute.
"Recalibrated your puzzles!"
After he said that, you couldn't help but laugh. You held your hand over your mouth, making sure Sans couldn't hear it.
